It is also the language of internet and media, learning it can give you access to a greater world. It is important for socializing with others and entertainment. Most of the Youtube videos are uploaded in English.  Although learning English for beginners can turn out to be a daunting and time-consuming process, english language school Singapore can make it less challenging and easier for you.

Learning English is not difficult in these times of the modern era and it is easy if you follow the following tips.

Read everything you have in hands

Reading provides a repetition of different words which makes it easier for you to learn them. Your emails, social media feed, books, classic literature, everything is in English right? Start reading it! Read everything you lay your hands upon. This also improves your vocabulary and gives you an understanding of words according to the context they are in.

Watch English movies with subtitles

While watching an English movie, there are so many words we don’t understand. The accent English is spoken in varies around the globe. At first, you might find it difficult to understand the varying accents and that’s where the subtitles play a significant part.  Having subtitles turned on, you can improve your English listening and reading skills at the same time. Reading them improves your grammar too. It is a great way to expand your vocabulary and learning new words. As time passes you will soon start understanding what you hear without reading the subtitles.

Communicate  with others

Communicating plays a lead role in learning English. Many people feel shy and insecure while speaking English. They think they’ll be made fun of if they don’t use the correct grammar or accent. Shrug this thinking off your shoulders. Have live conversations with your fellow mates. Start with communicating in short sentences. Try to make use of sentences you heard in any movie in your real life. If you cant talk with any live person, start texting in English. We, humans, are experts in communication without even opening our mouths, and for that, thanks to WhatsApp!

Making ground in learning a language is a time-consuming process. If at any time you feel like it, don’t give up. Most people just give up and say “ I don’t speak English”. Eradicate this phrase from your mind and instead use “I’m in the learning process and making improvements daily”

In fact, there are no easy ways. But it’s great to find the activity you like and practice your English as often as possible.
I really like watching movies in English with subtitles, as well as reading art books in English. It is more difficult for me to understand everything, but it improves my understanding and literacy well.
I also like to listen to podcasts. I found many more useful resources here: https://issbc.org/janis-esl/subtopicesl.html for listening, speaking, and grammar. Also, your various exercises help me a lot. I still make some mistakes while solving exercises, but practice makes perfect.
