Simple Sentence, Complex Sentence Or Compound Sentence Worksheet For Class 8

A simple sentence has just one clause and hence it consists of just one finite verb. There are no conjunctions or relative pronouns in a simple sentence.

A complex or a compound sentence will have two or more clauses and hence two or more finite verbs.

A complex sentence will contain one or more subordinating conjunctions (e.g. because, as, since, if, whether, unless, until, when, after, before, though, although) or relative pronouns (who, which, that, whom, whose).

A compound sentence will contain a coordinating conjunction. (e.g. and, but, or, nor, for, yet, so, either…or, neither…nor, both…and)
