Dear Recipient Name:

I am a frequent traveler and a loyal customer of your airline. But my most recent flight on your airline turned out to be a nightmarish experience as my luggage was lost. I am writing to request compensation for my losses.

On August 5, 2012, I traveled on Flight 333 from Delhi to Bangalore. When I reached the baggage claim area, I was shocked to discover that my luggage was lost. I immediately contacted the baggage claim representative. He assured me that my luggage would be on the next flight and asked me to wait. I waited for hours but my luggage never arrived. When at last it became clear that my luggage was gone for good, the representative asked me to fill out a claim form. I was told that I would receive compensation within 90 days. That was three and half months ago but I still have not received any compensation.

My lost luggage contained some important documents and lots of other valuable items. Although I made several phone calls, nobody could tell me the status of my claim.

I have enclosed a list of the items that my lost luggage contained along with their estimated costs and I must insist that you reimburse me immediately.
